Do you wonder if God is still speaking today? Do you feel that divine appointments pass you by? Do you suppose that God is involved in the details of everyone else's life but your own?

Perhaps it is time for you to slow down and reevaluate the manner in which you are living; this chosen respite from busyness or even from boredom just may prepare the soil of your life for the amazing intervention of a Father who cares deeply. We must not ignore the truth that God is speaking more than we are listening, that He is involved more than we care to acknowledge and that every day is fraught with ordinary miracles.

I have found uncontainable joy in choosing to live a life of unmatched expectation. Each day, when my sleepy eyes open and I begin my morning rituals, the anticipation begins with a prayer, "Father, would You speak to me today? I am listening for Your voice. Father, would You arrange divine appointments for me today? I am expecting opportunities to bless others and to receive blessing in return. Father, would You be Lord today over every decision I make, every word that I speak and every action that I make?"

When a prayer such as that one becomes the welcome mat for an untouched day, the possibilities of assignment are endless and the impossibilities of yesterday suddenly and completely disappear.

I have found that when I slog through life, never looking for the fingerprint of God, that I miss His certain presence and His available power. I know that when I am bored with a life of "non-events" or when I choose to be semipresent with an uninvolved heart, I become immune to all that He is doing around me and for me. I refuse to live a life of lethargy for one more endless day; I will reevaluate my life and choose to offer my life daily to the one who knows me best and loves me the most.

The miracle of partnering with God is born when I choose to view every day with utter anticipation of His goodness interrupting my life. I remind myself often that I serve a God who is working behind the scenes of my life, and He will certainly accomplish what concerns me.

When I earnestly look around for His fingerprints, it is then I become increasingly aware of the opportunities that are obviously in my pathway. When I partner with the Father in living a life of heaven's glory, every person becomes a miracle of God's grace and every event becomes an open door.

When I choose to believe that God is involved in the details of my ordinary life, every word that I speak becomes a ministry to others and every thought is transformed into a prayer.

The days of living a life of apathy and tedium are over; it is time to roll up our sleeves, take a deep breath and declare, "God! I am in! I am all in to Your purposes and to Your interruptions."

It is time to pray and to listen, to work and to pray, to expect and to believe. My friend, don't miss the wonder of friendship with the Father. There are no "mundane moments" for those of the household of faith.

Every breath we take is a miracle, and every day we live is an opportunity to make hell smaller and heaven bigger!
